From February 5th to 11th, National Apprenticeship Week 2024 was celebrated. At Oakfield, we currently have twelve apprentices working in various departments such as groundworks, engineering, site management, quantity surveying, and mechanical roles. To mark the occasion of Apprenticeship Week, we had the opportunity to meet and talk with four of our apprentices: Mackenzie, who specializes in mechanical work; Harvey, focusing on groundworks; Finley, involved in site management; and Jack, pursuing engineering. We engaged in discussions about their individual experiences within the company.
During National Apprenticeship week we also visited Nottingham College apprenticeship event. It provided a fantastic opportunity for us to interact with students, discussing apprenticeships, work experience placements, and career paths available in the industry while raising awareness of the construction sector.
Additionally, as part of the National Apprenticeship Week celebration, we collaborated with Nottingham College to take their students to the new Broadmarsh Development in Nottingham City Centre, offering them a first-hand experience of life on a construction site.
As a company, we take pride in our commitment to apprenticeships, and this September, we look forward to welcoming new apprentices into various roles within our organisation. We strongly believe in the significance of apprenticeships and the positive outcomes they bring. We eagerly anticipate the achievements of our new team members and extend our best wishes to them as they continue their exciting careers!
