At Oakfield, we are deeply committed to our employees and the communities where we operate. Our dedication is centred on creating positive social impact within our local communities, and this Christmas season, we extended our support to the charity group known as Switch Up. Switch Up is an organization working tirelessly in Nottingham and the Mansfield area to provide life-changing assistance to young individuals in communities affected by crime and violence. Through various means such as sports, mentoring, and personal development programs, they enhance the mental and physical well-being of these young people, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and motivation to realise their true potential. Additionally, they proactively provide families in these areas with essential supplies like food, clothing, and other necessities.
This year, we joined forces with The Switch up Community Appeal to help vulnerable individuals navigate the challenging winter months, as the increasing cost of living has made basic essentials unaffordable for many. Our campaign achieved tremendous success, gathering over 100 unused toys, a substantial collection of books, and supplies valued at over £500. The employees at Oakfield went above and beyond, and our social media efforts even resonated with external companies and individuals who generously contributed food, toys, and clothing. The entire campaign was a resounding success in ensuring that “Nobody goes hungry” this Christmas. One of our remarkable employees, Claire, made a heartfelt contribution at the start of December by donating more than 50 Advent calendars, ensuring that children did not miss out on this festive tradition.
