Oakfield Plant and Transport Ltd were proud to play a small part in remembering ‘The Flying Bedstead’ this afternoon by assisting the team at the Rolls Royce Heritage centre to deliver a half scale model to the neighbouring school ‘Hucknall Flying High Academy’ due to open its doors tomorrow.

The Rolls-Royce Trust Measuring Rig (TMR), Otherwise known as the Flying Bedstead, was an experimental aircraft that was first flown on August 2, 1954 and used in the early development of VTOL (vertical takeoff-and-landing) aircraft also known as the Harrier Jump Jet.

The TMR was the WORLDS FIRST jet powered, vertical take off and landing aircraft.

There was unfortunatley a fatality of a Groundworker on a local Construction Site yesterday.

Our sincere condolences go out to his family and all those involved.

Grab Wagons are less time consuming, more veratile and more mobile than other types of waste collection such as Skip Hire, a Grab is agile enough to load on site without the need of macine for loading, the Grab can then safely drive away with materials to be disposed of correctly minimising disruption to your site.

Grab Wagons can deal with a wide variety of items either for delivery or for collection.
